Remodeling increases in February 2011

The most recent BuildFax Remodeling Index report reveals that home remodeling in February 2011 increased from a year before and shows that home owners are still more likely to remodel than move.

February marked the 16th month consecutive month of home remodeling increases.  In addition, all four regions of the country (West, South, Northeast, and Midwest) showed year-over-year increases.

The report’s remodeling index increased by 20 percent over the year to 95.1 in February.  “February 2011 was a strong month for the industry, despite the fact the remodeling activity traditionally dips during the winter months,” said the Vice President of Research and Development at Buildfax.
