Austin named small business leader in the South

This year, for the third year in a row, Austin has been named the leading city for small business in the South.

According to the Business Journals online, On Numbers made annual rankings of the cities that small business thrived in the most and Austin remained in the top spot where it has been since 2010. The city ranked second is now Raleigh, who moved up from their number six spot.

Oklahoma City now holds the number three spot. The rankings are determined by a six step formula and factors include population growth, movement in employment and the amount of small business concentrated in the area.  The data shows that Austin is number one in the South because of its population growth.
