City residents warned of garage break-ins

Neighborhood watch groups were recently alerted by Sacramento Police after a man responsible for a series of garage break-ins and thefts was arrested on Thursday, March 21.

Acting on a garage theft report, police arrested a thief in Greenhaven neighborhood who was using a clothes hanger to break into homeowners’ garage doors. In a YouTube video, a short clip was shown demonstrating how a clothes hanger can be used to unlock a garage door from the outside. Police conducted a search inside the suspect’s home in which they found variety of items which they think were stolen.

Investigators believed the arrested suspect was responsible for at least ten garage burglaries in the area.
