Types of garage doors

The most commonly used garage doors are sectional and many residences have four to five pieces. Commercial garage doors usually need to be tall enough for a large truck to fit into so it usually is 24 inches high or more.

The sectional pieces on garage doors are stacked on top of each other vertically and hinges are used to keep them in place. The hinges are on the end and are also used to allow the door to roll on the tracks. There are also brackets that are on the top and bottom on the door in order to keep the door in place.
