Town Lake YMCA begins $5.3 million remodel

The YMCA located in Austin’s Town Lake area has recently begun a remodel that will cost $5.3 million and will add wonderful features to the community center.

Additions being made to the center include an expanded atrium lobby that will host cardio classes and group discovery classes for children and teenagers. A new outdoor amphitheater will also be built that will feature classes, lectures, and performances.

Residents have expressed their excitement for the renovated YMCA, and the center’s executive director, Tiffany Patterson, stated of the remodel, “Our goal is to create a new focal point, not just for the Y, but for the entire Austin community.”
