Thieves break in through photographer’s damaged garage door

A professional photographer lost her expensive equipment after thieves broke into her house through its damaged garage door this week.

Photographer Wendy Blew said the break in happened between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Wednesday. The thieves gained access to her make-shift studio through a garage door misshapen from recent rainfall and took her cameras and other expensive photographic accessories. Recent rains caused the garage door to swell, making it difficult to shut according to Blew. Police officials believed the incident was an opportunistic break in. The damaged garage door lead thieves to have access to scan and take all valuables, an official said.

Blew gave advice to local residents to always check the condition of their windows and doors.  She also said, “That just broke my heart,” regarding her stolen hard drive containing images from the past six years.
