‘Statesman’ profiles garages in Austin

The Austin American-Statesman is currently looking for people with a “garage that [will] make mechanics and/or your friends drool.”  In their “Life” section, unique and multi-purpose garages in Austin are being featured to show mechanics, home owners and business owners just how creatively a garage space can be used.

For example, one Austin resident, Mark Carlson, uses his 14-foot by 36-foot garage for storage, entertainment, projects, working out and even as a greenhouse.  To show that his garage is multipurpose and to match the exterior of his home, Carlson installed French patio doors on one side of the garage.  Carlson tells the Statesman that friends and neighbors are surprised to find out that the garage was an addition because the design matches the home so well.
