Remodeling index continues to increase

For the 17th consecutive month in a row, the BuildFax remodeling index showed an increase in remodeling activity.  The month of March had a year-over-year increase of 14 percent and the index reached 98 points.  This is the highest index recorded by BuildFax since March 2006.

In March, residential remodeling increased by 2.9 points from the month before and 12 points from March 2010.  Additionally, all regions tracked by BuildFax showed month-over-month increases in remodeling except for the Midwest.  The southern region increased by 10 percent year-over-year and 9 percent month-over-month.
