Garage door replacement increases home value

The National Association of Realtors recently released their annual “Remodeling Cost vs. Value Report” which listed garage door replacement as one of the top repairs a homeowner can make to improve their home’s value.  9 of the top 10 improvements the report cites as the most cost-effective home improvement projects are exterior projects.

Garage door replacement was ranked first by the association as the number one cost-effective project for homeowners.  Garage door replacement generates an average 102.1 percent return upon sale of the house.  In addition, the report notes that garage door replacement is the only project that will return more than the investment.

One real estate agent involved in the report stated, “Curb appeal remains king-it’s the first thing potential buyers notice when looking for a home, and it also demonstrates pride of ownership”.
