Garage door nearly ripped off by bear

A family was frightened after a bear nearly ripped off the garage door of their home in Northern Virginia in early May.

According to the Leesburg Police, a bear was responsible for damaging a garage door when it clawed through it to get into the garage. The owners of the home said they were shaken to realize a bear was inside their garage and they took measures to prevent the wild bear from breaking into the rest of their home. The bear is believed to have broken into the garage because it was attracted to the smell coming from an extra refrigerator the family had in their garage.
