Fire station receives new garage door

Highland Park fire station will be receiving a new garage door for their station in order to reduce their response time to accidents.

The station is one of the oldest in the area and it can get really hot inside, especially during the summer months. This is why the firefighters usually keep the door open so that a breeze can run through the station.

The door currently must  be closed manually when they leave for an call and this causes a minor hold in the response time. The Highland Park Neighborhood Council has recently voted to give a grant to the station to have a new automatic garage door opener built.
