Burglars target open garage doors in El Cajon

Overnight in the city of El Cajon, burglars entered a number of homes through unlocked garage doors.

Officials with the El Cajon Police Department have stated that the suspects in the burglary are unknown at this time. Burglaries that occur when the homeowner or others are in the home are termed  “hot prowl” burglaries.

According to NBC San Diego, each of the homes hit during the spree was accessed by the garage door. Police are reminding residents in the San Diego area to lock their doors, windows, and garage doors in order to protect themselves and their homes.
