Austin chip maker to open new facility

Producer of gluten-free Beanitos Bean Chips, Bean Brand Foods, is planning on moving their manufacturing plant from its current location in San Bernardino, California to Austin.  The company has its headquarters here in Austin and would like to combine the two parts of the company into one facility.

CEO Doug Foreman stated that he hopes to find a commercial space of around 75,000 square feet.  Currently, Bean Brand Foods employs around 20 in Austin, but at least 150 jobs will be added after moving the manufacturing plant.

Foreman said that one of the reasons he began thinking about the move is because the company grew too big for its manufacturing facility in California.  In addition, he stated, “We live here, and we want to put the plant here.”
